In this demo you will learn the exciting process of creating a ceramic piece with the slip casting technique.
Inés will start by explaining the physics of the process, how the plaster reacts and why there are different types of casting depending on the shape of the piece.
After this, Inés will continue with the process of creating the piece by choosing the right casting, filling the cast with the slip, removing the piece from the casting, working on the piece once is out of the mold and finally, painting and decorating and final glazing.
Because there are a lot of hours involved in the process with drying and firing, Inés will have some pieces pre-prepared in each state for demonstration purposes.
